To the Dance Council of North Texas,
Thank you for all that you do for the dance community of North Texas! From the informative North Texas Dance magazine and website, to various performances and events throughout the year, to the comprehensive and ever-expanding scholarship possibilities, the Dance Council continues to provide vital support to dancers in the metroplex and beyond. As the mom of a dancer and musical theatre major, your important efforts have long been appreciated.
Regards,
~ Jane Cornish Smith

Thank you for all that you did to make yesterday a celebration to remember.
It was so heart warming to have so many people there to share it with us.
Often the staff of an organization are the unsung heroes.
All of you were fantastic and we appreciate all you did to make our day so very special.
The Dance Council deserves a lot of praise for all that they do.

"Thank you so much for giving the Hoofin' Crew kids this opportunity. My
granddaughter, Tabatha has had the time of her life!!!!! She has had
the chance to dance with Tracy Jordan, learn new tap steps, make lots of
new friends, and she is always so excited to dance with Buster
Cooper!!! She will always remember this awesome experience!!"

Dear Dallas Dance Council--
I first, and foremost would like to introduce myself. My name is
Kimberly Lyons, and I am a member of the Amy Marshall Dance Company in
New York City. The reason I am emailing you is to thank you for giving
me the opportunity to grow and learn through the art of dance and
performing.
Dallas holds a very special place in the companies heart because half of
the members attended Southern Methodist University, and grew up
learning and growing from the Dallas Dance Council throughout the city. I
am one of those members. I grew up marveling at the dance performances
y'all supported from 2000-2010.
I found my
love of dance through the little studio in Plano, Gotta Dance, which is
owned and operated by the marvelous Cindi Lawrence-Hanson.Through that
studio I was able to perform in Nation Tap Dance Day, Dance for the
Planet, and more. I looked forward to y'alls events every year. Without
them, I would not be the dancer I am today. I wanted to Thank Y'all for
the tremendous support you gave me throughout the years. Not only have
you impacted my life, you have affected many others throughout the
metroplex, and continue to do so. Thank You.
Dallas is a city we rarely get to travel to, and half of our company is
from there. It would mean so much to us and our families if you could
explain what exactly we must do to book some performances in the
metroplex.
Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing from you,
~ Kimberly Lyons

Kudos to the Dance Council for supporting young tap dancers through
their DCNT Scholarship Program. Tapestry Dance Company's Soul to Sole
Festival has been a part of this incredible opportunity for many years
and is proud to have been able to give numerous students the opportunity
to study with the masters of the field. It is our honor to be a part of
such a generous gift to our teaching community.
